January 22, on the Day of Unity of Ukraine, the action “Warmth for Ukraine” took place near the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, bringing together the Ukrainian community around a common goal — strengthening real support for Ukraine in the conditions of Russia’s full-scale military aggression.

The Day of Unity reminds us that Ukraine’s strength lies in its unity. Today, this unity has a special meaning both in Ukraine and far beyond its borders, where Ukrainian communities continue to be an active part of the common struggle for freedom, dignity, and the future of our state.

The action was held within the framework of the international initiative #WarmthForUkraine, launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with partners. Its goal is to mobilize international support to provide Ukraine with assistance in the field of energy resilience: the transfer of equipment and solutions necessary to preserve heat and light in communities, hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure facilities that are constantly under attack by Russia.

The Permanent Representation of Ukraine to the Council of Europe called on the Ukrainian community of Strasbourg, association leaders, as well as partners and friends of Ukraine to intensify efforts and jointly seek concrete opportunities to provide assistance to Ukraine within the #WarmthForUkraine initiative.

A particularly moving and deeply symbolic element of the action was the Gift from the 6th Assault Company of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment — the State Emblem of Ukraine laid out from spent shell casings on a cross-section of a tree. This Gift was beside us during the action as a silent reminder of the price Ukraine pays for its freedom, and of the close connection between rear support abroad and the struggle on the frontline. The light we light here is for those who hold the defense there.

We express our sincere gratitude to the Ukrainian community of Strasbourg, associations, and everyone who joined the action and confirmed their readiness to act together for the sake of Ukraine.
